Narita Airport Limousine Bus: Choose the Right Tokyo Stop

Mina Kuroda · 5 min read

Compare Narita Airport Limousine Bus fares and Tokyo stops, then check booking, terminal boarding, luggage limits and return-trip timing.

The Narita Airport Limousine Bus is most useful when it stops at your hotel—or close enough to avoid another train ride. It is a scheduled airport coach, not a private limousine: routes connect Narita with Tokyo stations and selected hotels. Its advantage is reduced luggage handling; the trade-off is road traffic and, on some routes, a long wait for the next departure. Operator’s introduction

Choose the exact stop, not just “Shinjuku” or “Shibuya,” before buying. A hotel stop, a street-level station stop and an upper-floor bus terminal can mean quite different final journeys.

Tokyo fares and useful stops

Fares and timetable examples checked October 14, 2026. Times below are scheduled journeys from Narita Terminal 1, excluding immigration, baggage collection, the wait for a bus and onward travel. Check departures for your travel date.

Destination Adult / child one-way fare Scheduled journey What to check
T-CAT, Nihonbashi Hakozaki ¥3,100 / ¥1,550 About 55–80 minutes Useful for a nearby hotel; not Tokyo Station
Tokyo Station, Yaesu North Gate / Tekko Building ¥3,100 / ¥1,550 About 75–100 minutes Check the walk from the Yaesu side to your destination
Shinjuku Station / Keio Department Store ¥3,600 / ¥1,800 About 80–105 minutes Select this stop separately from Busta Shinjuku or a hotel
Shibuya Station ¥3,600 / ¥1,800 About 90–100 minutes Compare the departure time with the next train

Child fares generally apply to ages 6–11; 12-year-olds still in elementary school also qualify. A preschool child needs a child-fare ticket if occupying a seat, but travels free on an adult’s lap. Child-fare rules

Match the stop to your accommodation

Shinjuku: The route includes Keio Plaza Hotel, Hilton Tokyo, Hyatt Regency Tokyo, Shinjuku Washington Hotel and several other hotels, but individual departures serve different combinations. A blank cell in the timetable means that bus does not stop there. Search your hotel first rather than assuming any Shinjuku bus will reach it. Shinjuku stops and departures

For the return trip, the Keio Department Store stop uses bus stop 23 for Narita. Busta Shinjuku boards on the fourth floor, at A1, A2 or B4 depending on departure; arriving buses drop passengers on the third floor. These are separate boarding locations. Shibuya: The route serves Shibuya Station, Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel and Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu / Shibuya Mark City. The checked timetable lists only six airport-to-Shibuya departures, so waiting time can outweigh the convenience. Shibuya timetable

For your return, “Shibuya Station” boards at Shibuya Fukuras, first floor, platform 9. Mark City uses fifth floor, platform 92—not a roadside stop outside the station. Shibuya Station boarding point · Mark City boarding point

Nihonbashi: T-CAT has direct access to Suitengumae Station; Ningyocho Station is a published seven-minute walk away. It makes sense for nearby accommodation, but still requires onward travel if your hotel is elsewhere. T-CAT connections

Booking and boarding at Narita

Use the operator’s Timetable & Reserve page. Select Narita Airport, the direction, your terminal, the exact destination and travel date. Reservation arrangements can vary by route and stop.

  • Paid online booking: You receive an e-ticket by email and can board using its QR code.
  • Reservation with payment on the day, where offered: Exchange the reservation QR code at a counter or machine, pay and obtain the ticket at least five minutes before departure.
  • No advance booking: You can buy on arrival, but only board if seats remain. Booking instructions · Operator FAQ

Narita lists bus ticket counters on 1F in all three terminals. After collecting your bags and clearing customs, use the Airport Limousine counter if you need a ticket or help selecting a departure. Confirm your boarding bay from the ticket or staff; it varies by terminal and route. The operator provides maps for Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Airport counter locations and hours

Credit cards are accepted at Narita’s Limousine counters. Suica and PASMO can also be used there to purchase a ticket: do not treat this as an ordinary city bus where you simply tap aboard. Load enough balance beforehand; the counters cannot recharge your card. Payment guide

Reservations generally open one month ahead. Online changes or cancellations must be completed at least five minutes before departure; the operator does not provide refunds for missed buses caused by flight delays. Its guidance suggests booking 60 minutes after scheduled landing for international arrivals, while also asking passengers to allow ample time. Do not treat that hour as a guaranteed clearance time. Buying after customs avoids guessing when you will be ready, but risks a full bus. Reservation and delay rules

Luggage and accessibility

The standard checked-baggage limit is two pieces per person, each no larger than 50 × 60 × 120 cm and no heavier than 30 kg. Jointly operated routes may handle baggage differently. Keep passports, valuables, cameras and computers with you; power banks must travel in the passenger cabin, not the luggage compartment. Baggage rules · April 2026 baggage notice

Ordinary coaches are not low-floor buses. If you need to remain in a wheelchair, confirm a suitable lift/elevator-equipped departure rather than booking a standard seat. The operator lists such services on selected routes, with Narita Terminal 3 excluded from its accessible-route listing. Accessibility arrangements

When another option makes more sense

Choose Narita Express for a station-based trip without road congestion. It directly serves Tokyo, Shinagawa, Shibuya and Shinjuku, so the Limousine Bus is not the only transfer-free option. Compare the next departure and the station-to-hotel walk, not just the ride time. JR East’s N’EX guide

For a cheaper Tokyo Station trip, compare Airport Bus TYO-NRT. Its standard fare is ¥1,500, excluding late-night and early-morning services, but it permits only one suitcase with combined dimensions of approximately 158 cm. It is a different service with different luggage rules. TYO-NRT fare · Luggage restrictions

For your flight home, search the airport-bound timetable separately and book the correct terminal. The Limousine operator recommends arrival at least two hours before an international flight; follow any longer airline requirement and add room for traffic. Avoid choosing the last bus that merely meets the check-in deadline on paper. Airport timing guidance

Desk scores rate worth-the-trip-time and are set by the desk; they are never supplied by an operator, and reader review counts never feed them.
Per-entry fields are admission, hours, weekly closure, access and time budget. A field is omitted when it has not been verified — it is never estimated. Found an error? Submit a correction.
